Program Assistant—Environmental and Health Justice

New York Lawyers for the Public Interest
New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI) is seeking applicants for the position of Program Assistant in its Environmental Justice (EJ) and Health Justice (HJ) Programs. NYLPI’s mission is to advance equality and civil rights, with a focus on health justice, disability rights and environmental justice, through the power of community lawyering and partnerships with the private bar. The Program Assistant will work closely with the staff and the Directors of the EJ and HJ Programs to advance the mission of both programs and the organization.
DUTIES:
·         Reports directly to the Program Directors of the EJ and HJ Programs
·         Provides administrative support to attorneys, advocates and organizers, including making travel arrangements, filing, duplicating documents, answering correspondence, arranging for payment of expenses and scheduling
·         Provides campaign and case support to attorneys, advocates, and organizers, including reviewing and proofreading documents, researching best practices, assisting with brief and document production, conducting data entry, and drafting fact sheets, press advisories and memos
·         Participates in EJ and HJ Program advocacy, including outreach, client representation and/or legislative advocacy
·         Helps to prepare funder reports
·         Assists in maintaining office referral guides and resource materials
·         Performs additional duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
·         Focused and personable, with a proactive attitude
·         Extremely organized and able to handle multiple tasks, with shifting priorities, efficiently and professionally
·         Must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
·         Must be able to build strong relationships with colleagues and community partners
·         Must have strong writing, analytical and communication skills
·         Must have strong word processing skills, including proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
·         Bachelor’s degree required
·         Fluency in a second language desirable

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking an e-Discovery General Attorney responsible for the full life cycle of electronically stored information discovery in civil and criminal matters. The position requires flexibility, adaptability, creativity and experience using a variety of e-Discovery platforms. Candidates with combined litigation, information management, and technology experience and an undergraduate degree in information management systems, business information systems, and/or computer science are highly desirable.
